Harness or No Harness?

I was 16 the first time I saw a child on a harness. We were shopping in The Galleria and my girlfriends and I all made comments about how we would NEVER do that.  And, I won't. But I know who they make those things for:

Did you know the Zoo gift shop even sells these cute cuddly back packs with a harness attached? I think they must sell quite a few if other parents have a Hudson.
Back to the zoo pics:
Started at the Sea Lions, my personal favorite...

Headed to the Elephants getting a bath. A crowd pleaser for sure in this family.
Moved right along to the new African section:
Hands down, the best $5.00 spent all day: Feeding the giraffes.
Meet Miles. He was hungry.
They say this big guy below, never comes over this close, so we got lucky!
And ended our trip with the petting zoo.
Again, same results.
Hudson greets every single animal. Luke looks and points. But would prefer not to touch them. But he did pet a few this trip.

And, the best I could do for a group shot.
They are just to busy to stop and sit nicely for me now.
And Daddy had to make sure this guy was still alive.

We left the zoo and headed over to Little Bigs for lunch. If you are in that area, you should make the trip over there! So good!
Anyways, my story:
Brandon ordered a chocolate shake for all of us to share. Hudson realized it was on the table halfway through the meal and wanted to try it. He loved it. Then Luke had to try it. He loved it.
Then we hid it so they would eat their food. Luke saw it again, and was drinking it for quite a long time. Hudson looks over at him, and shouts SHARE. (In his sweet little Hudson voice.) It was priceless. I think he was worried Luke was gonna drink it all.
btw.... Zoo Ratio is 1:1 too!

And, pictures are fixed on the blog about my favorite things.

  1. I would not put them on a backpack harness but I have seen ones that you attach to their wrists and your wrists. I would use one of those and had we had enough time to get one before we left for Disney I would have used it there. Just keeps them close but they have some freedome as well. Just put Luke in a backpack on you - he doesn't want to be far from his Mama anyway.
