They did this to their office:
And I thought the wall was amazing!
So after a few phone calls, and some random blog posts online, I concluded that I could totally handle this project.
I had Brandon convinced that his only part in this job would be nailing it up to the walls and cutting out the plug sockets. (Whoops... cause I needed a little more help than that!)
So my buddies and I set off to Lowe's alone to get the sheets of brick.
Had them cut down to size, and then we were on our way.
We don't own a saw or anything like that, so I bought a drill bit that had a saw attachment on it, and Brandon had to drill/saw the holes out of the plugs.
He used dry wall screws to hang the sheets up.
I then used All Purpose Joint Compound (3-4 tubs) to re-grout the whole wall white. I used one of those putty spatula thingys.
I tried to put more on the seams and over the screw holes.
Then you have to sand, sand, sand the wall. To get the look you want.
We don't own an electric sander so I used the sanding blocks that I had on hand. (Let me tell you something, don't be cheap, just go buy a freaking sander.) But there is a TON of dust that will accumulate. So be ready for it.
More sanding....
Done.
I just need to go back and make the heavy patches like in Candice's first picture.
I also think it would look really good with trim on the top too. But I don't want to push my luck when it comes to Brandon helping me with my projects that I do on a whim.
And I need to finish decorating the room. But the overall effect is exactly what I wanted!
