I didn't think you could create bad habits before 4 months of age, but my boys are so advanced that they already have bad habits at 2 months! They can't nap without being on me....
The morning nap is hopeless for now; I can only take on so much at once. The morning nap looks like this: Wake up at 5:30-6 am, play till 8, sleep till 10ish. But-one falls asleep in the bojorn that I wear and the other in my arms, and I am usually so tired I just sit in one spot (very still like) praying they don't wake up.
But the afternoon nap I have been working on for about a week. I start at 1:30 trying to get them down.
I keep points. We are on teams. So far the score Me: 2, Them: 4. I win if they sleep in their own bed... they win if I end up holding them.
This blog really will get somewhere I promise. So, today I started at 1:30, and got them asleep and in their own bed! I was about to give myself a point when I hear something. I go to check on them and this is what I see:
So I quietly back away....wide awake and not crying. That is great, all the books say put them down awake anyways. So it's a win win.
Then 30 seconds later they are both crying! I was about to just cave and give them the point, but I was strong and look who is making a come back!
Me: 3 Them: 4 (I hate to lose anything!)
And yes. I plan on swaddling them until they are 18. Don't judge.
I still swaddle Hunter. It is the best thing. He does not have any control over his hands and he constantly rubs his eyes. It is the only way he sleeps for an extended amount of time. How funny, I have been working on nap time this week too. Trying to get him to nap in his own bed! So far Hunter 4 me 3

Routine is *EVERYTHING*. I led a very boring life for a long time because I refused to break Cayley out of her routine, which was a house-bound routine that centered around naps. Going places and doing new things was mostly too disruptive. With that observation, we'll see you later today.
