I heard about R and C Dairy and Farmstead from our pediatrician. He knows how I am a freak about certain things, food that I offer my children being one of them, and told me to check this place out. That the boys would really enjoy this little farm 30 minutes from here.
And by freak, I am not a total freak. I did give the boys a McDonalds happy meal a few months ago. We eat Chickfila, Canes, and donuts. I just really try to offer healthy balanced meals and snacks. And I do organic meat, eggs, milk, and fruit. And don't get me started on nitrates and nitrites that they add to hotdogs, bacon, ham, and deli meat. Everyone should really read up on that little fact.
This place is great. The owners are friendly and super knowledgeable. They don't spray the fruits and veggies. And they have a state certified Grade A Dairy operation! We tried a half gallon of the regular milk, not the goats milk, and the boys loved it. It isn't pasteurized. Which trust me, I know you are rolling your eyes at me, but I have done some research. And our doctor has done some research and we both think the benefits outweigh the negative. (But I won't be driving there each week to buy more milk, don't worry... I'm just not scared of it anymore.)
I want to go back and try the yogurt and veggies!
Cows!
My Buddies!
Children of the corn
Blackberries!
Strawberries
I think Boarshead lunchmeat is OK - its just cheap crap lunchmeat that is bad. And, HEB has some they do in-house - that is OK too.
ReplyDeleteBoars head all natural is okay, the regular stuff has nitrates in it too.
