How much wood does a wood chuck chuck?

Did you know that babies eat cribs? I just learned this from my friend Nichole's blog...You must look at this! (And Nichole has a really good sense of humor, her blog is really funny!) I like reading it because the boys are 2 months behind Amy May and seem to follow in her development as well....
But back to the crib chewing....
I really had no idea babies did this. I started asking my friends, and sure enough, they all do it. So, I am in LOVE with our cribs, and really don't want to have little chew marks all over them.
Then, the next day after reading Nichole's blog, my friend Sarah told me about crib guards.
I found this one on Overstock.com, but it is $40.00. And I need two, so that is $80.00 just to keep little teeth from destroying the cribs.
And them my friend, Tara, told me this blog about how to make my own!
Step by step directions found here:

So, my project for this weekend, while Daddy has some time off... is to try to make my own. The front of our crib is really deep, so I am going to have to find some cheap fabric to make this project stay under 40.00/crib! Wish me luck!

  2. My nephew basically ruined his, but so far, so good. We were going to get one, but Carson would technically have to bend down to bite... so hopefully him being too tall will stop him from biting through the wood! :)

  3. If there's a Garden Ridge near you, you might want to check there for fabric. They have nice big remnants for about five bucks each, often a few yards worth.

  4. Thank you so much for posting this! Kevin has half of a tooth that starting coming in last weekend and within one week he has already started scratching his crib. I saw this last week and made one this weekend, it's perfect!
