Messy Monster

3 in one day... I'm on a roll. I hope I'm not filling up everyone's Google Reader too much!

I don't really give the boys table food yet. I should. I constantly worry I am messing up their development by not letting them use their fingers to feed themselves. I give them puffs, but they mostly end up on the floor, carpet, and I found one hiding out in Luke's crib the other night. I have tried giving them blueberries, avocado pieces, and banana chunks... but mostly I end up feeding it to them, and they stay less messy.

But tonight I was going to get over this fear of table food and just let them try to feed themselves. It was a perfect plan. I cut and packed up all their food, and we were headed to eat mexican food! Why mess up my clean floor?? Let them throw it all over Los Cucos! But our plans changed and we ended up back at home. So, I was about to defrost some baby food when I changed my mind, and got over it---the fear of everything being dirty. I should have taken a picture of our kitchen floor after!!
Just starting out... notice already how different the trays are!
Yummy!
This is what Hudson looks like chewing!
(I guess when you have ZERO teeth, it takes a little work!)
Luke is messy.
Pretty much all the time!
Hudson is not as messy!
Side by side comparison! Haha, they are so funny!

Okay, no more posts tonight! I am caught up!

  1. The boys are so cute. I am so glad I got to see them, if only for a little bit. You and Brandon are such amazing, wonderful parents. (And I would say that if you had one, two or five)

  2. Get a box of wet wipes, keep them on the counter or table for easy access... Buy an oil-cloth splat mat and put under their chairs. There is no easy way to clean up, but it does help keep you from mopping each night. Have no fears, it's just food. Not puke! :)
