Staying at home

I know for a fact, this is not a job for everyone.
Sometimes I question if I am doing a good job at it.
You work long hours.
Your boss (or bosses in my case) are temperamental at best.
There is no 30 minute duty free lunch or a 45 minute off period.
At best, you get a little bit of time to yourself durning nap... but only after you have cleaned up lunch, put away toys, and started the laundry.  And that is generous.

But... the perks make up for it all!
Seriously.
LOVE my JOB.
Wake up happy... (after coffee)
Get to play all day.
Hugs and Kisses are unsolicited now. And plenty going around.
And I get to do stuff like this for lunch:
A picnic!!
Pizza (Abs diet burger  crumbled on a whole wheat tortilla with cheese) and pears.

Yesterday I was inside cleaning up lunch, and I let the boys go outside.
I heard eruptions of laughter and I looked out the window and saw this:

My heart melts when they play nicely. When they laugh at one another. When they hug each other for no reason. I love my job. As thankless and hard as it is. I know it is the best place for me.

Disclamier: I am not trying to make working moms feel bad. This is all I know. Just want to remember the random moments that make me smile.

  1. Love it! You do a GREAT job... don't ever doubt it.

And... I hate that we feel we must make "disclaimers"... we all do the best we can and so what works for our families.
